Berlin Day 6

Warning, on Thursday we went to a concentration camp.

Thursday:We took the train from Friedrichstraße to Sachsenhausen. Pretty sure we were on the same tracks as the children on trains to death during the time of Hitler. It was so sad. The area around the camp was actually quite developed and we saw our first apple tree. That concentration camp was so sad, I found out a lot of facts I could have gone my whole life without knowing. The cruelty of those S.S. officers! The things that some of those prisoners made, were forced to do and endured!  I am surprised that any people made it out of there at all. We actually saw real used sets of the “striped pyjamas”. For dinner that night we had delicious Vietnamese food, for the first time. I had chicken, Mum had beef and Dad had pork Pho.

It was cold and windy that day, hence the closed eyes

8 -9 prisoners would have bathed in one of those circular things at once
